Made a check on the spam comment folder in the webshite backend.

Funny to see the only post that’s getting spam comments is one about getting spam comments.

Hooray, I’ve received my first spam comment on the website. Weirdly, rather than the usual suspects of porno, viagra or money/crypto scams, it was attempting to shill plastic piping in Russian. I didn’t click the link so it could have been a bait and switch for one of the aforementioned usual suspects.

I’ve now given £30 to Akismet to do spam scanning, as it’s worked pretty well when I’ve used it previously. Hopefully that will stop further attempts.
